Teresa has just completed 3 days of training as part of the UKCC Level 2 Coaching Scheme. She now has to run a series of coaching activities in order to complete the course. These will start on Sunday April 7th at Bawnacre Leisure Centre using the new map of the area and will continue on Tuesday evenings - details on the Fixtures page.
She really needs a group of club members to turn up regularly.
Please contact Teresa via email (raymondfinlay@btinternet.com) if you can make these sessions.

Congratulations to Ciara Largey (and Marcus Pinker) on winning the Medium Score Event at the world famous OMM which was in Yorkshire in 2012.
OMM stands for Original Mountain Marathon (formally the Karrimor Mountain Marathon.)
Fermo elite athletes Ciara Largey and Rosalind Hussey will be putting their skills to the test against the best orienteers in the world this month when they travel to the World Orienteering
Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland. Rosalind, who competes now for Dublin University Orienteers, is currently warming up for the competition (literally, its 30 degrees there) in Alicante, Spain at the World University Orienteering Championships. She finished a strong 29th in the Sprint, and went one better to finish 28th today in the Middle distance. Both girls will be travelling on to Switzerland next week to squeeze in some further training before the most prestigious event in the orienteering calendar. Their progress can be followed via the Irish Orienteering Squad blogs here and here. Good luck girls!
5/7/12 Ulster Herald Sports Personality Awards
Following her success in hill running this season, Fermo member Ciara Largey has been awarded the Ulster Herald Sports Personality Award for May 2012. The award recognises athletes who have achieved outstanding success in their chosen sport and there can be fierce competition from the local scene. Although hill running does not require as detailed navigation as orienteering, the terrain involved is similarly tough and provides excellent physical training. An interview with Ciara can be found here.
